This video was not easy to make. But as I made so many video collages about Knut and Thomas Dörflein, the keeper who raised him, I felt I also needed to do this one - to honor the man who brought with Knut so much joy to our hearts over the last nearly two years. And who left us way too early on September 22, 2008. I just hope I did it respectful enough.

Knut and the Gardener

This morning there was a gardener at Knuti`s enclosure - whom he always sees as an intruder. To make it worse, the gardener had a hosepipe - Knut HATES hosepipes. *g* So he did a lot of snuffling and threatening (see the pointed upper lip) although he was rather tired and only wanted to sleep (which he happily did a while later when the gardener was gone ;).

Especially in those so very very sad times I think back on the wonderful and often so funny memories I have of Knut and his Daddy. This here was always my favourite video to put a smile on my face and it still is - even (or especially) now.

Antonia the pygmy polar bear

Antonia is 19 years old and because of a metabolic disease she has very short legs. She can never be with other bears - but experts say (and I had the same impression) that she is not an unhappy bear. For months now I had the idea for this video because I always think of Antonia when I hear the song. Now I finally visited her and could so make the video.
